It includes learning objectives, technical content, and suggested learning activities for more than 10 different laboratory data management themes, ranging from the use of an LIS within a laboratory’s workflow, data quality, good security practices, data entry and reporting. This package can be used by LIS facilitators to conduct on-site trainings as well as on-site LIS mentors as they conduct on-the-job training of other laboratory personnel. KenyaEMR Mentor Support Orientation

This package, targeting a variety of implementing partners and Ministry of Health staff tasked with providing on-site mentors with ongoing technical and mentorship support, consists of materials that can be used according to one of three different workshop schedules. County-level facilitators use the facilitator guide to conduct a four-day facility-based workshop, which is designed to build the technical and mentorship skills of champion mentors. Champion mentors play a significant role in garnering support for KenyaEMR use. The mentorship guide, which they receive during the champion mentor workshop, is a key resource for them to use as they train other staff at their facility who are expected to use KenyaEMR competently. This can be as many as two to three other staff for sites using a retrospective data entry approach to 20+ staff for sites implementing a point-of-care model.

KenyaEMR Support for County Information and Communication Technology (ICT) and Health Departments Training

This curriculum is designed to train partners and county-level MOH ICT and health department staff to maintain, update, and troubleshoot KenyaEMR at a facility. It also introduces participants to the skills and knowledge used to assess a facility for EMR system readiness, set up the hardware and network, and install KenyaEMR. Spanning four days, this curriculum is highly practical and allows participants to gain hands-on experience working with KenyaEMR hardware and software.

Help Desk Curriculum

The Kenya Help Desk training targets supervisory personnel and system administrators supporting the national Health Information System Help Desk. The 2-day curriculum covers help desk structure and procedures applicable to both MOH and organization-based IT support. It provides in-depth, activity-based training on writing quality support tickets and troubleshooting information system issues.

Data Use Forum

The Kenya Data Use Forum is a two-day workshop that presents multiple methods of data analysis for quality improvement in health facilities using KenyaEMR.
