External Advisory Board

I-TECH’s external advisory board (EAB) members are distinguished global public health professionals and experts who have decades of combined experience in infectious diseases, non-communicable diseases, mental health, global development, strategy, and public health policy.

Meet I-TECH’s EAB members:

Amie Bishop, MSW, MPH
Senior Research Advisor, OutRight Action International
Amie Bishop is a global health and human rights consultant with professional experience in more than 20 countries. Currently, she is the Senior Research Advisor for OutRight Action International, a global LGBTIQ human rights organization. She has authored several groundbreaking research reports for OutRight including Vulnerability Amplified: The Impact of the COVID-19 Pandemic on LGBTIQ People (2020) and Harmful Treatment: The Global Reach of So-called Conversion Therapy (2019). She currently supports OutRight’s Ukraine Emergency Fund for LGBTIQ populations affected by the war. From 2008 to 2017, she served on OutRight’s Board of Directors and was Board Co-Chair from 2014 to 2017. As a consultant, Amie has worked for a range of international NGOs and agencies, including DAI, FHI360, the Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center, the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, I-TECH, PATH, UNDP, UNICEF, and USAID. Amie is an Adjunct Clinical Instructor at the University of Washington’s Department of Global Health and recently completed a 3-year term on the Advisory Panel for the Seattle Chapter of Women in Global Health. Amie holds Master’s Degrees in Social Work and Public Health from Columbia University (full bio).
Gabrielle Fitzgerald, MA
CEO & Founder, Panorama Group
Gabrielle Fitzgerald is the founder and CEO of Panorama and co-founder of Pandemic Action Network. With decades of experience in politics, policy, and philanthropy, Gabrielle has become a recognized voice and thought leader on catalytic philanthropy, women’s leadership, and pandemic preparedness and response. As a platform for social change, Panorama’s mission is to maximize social impact by partnering with visionary leaders to co-develop solutions with audacious thinking and bold action. Gabrielle also co-founded the Pandemic Action Network, which drives collective action to end the COVID-19 crisis and ensure the world is prepared for the next pandemic. Prior to founding Panorama, Gabrielle spent more than a decade working in philanthropy. She directed the $100M Ebola Program at the Paul G. Allen Family Foundation and served as the director of Global Program Advocacy at the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation. Gabrielle is board president of American Friends of United for Global Mental Health. She holds an MA from the Maxwell School at Syracuse University and a BA from American University (full bio).
Patricio V. Marquez, ScM
Consultant, World Bank Group
Senior Associate, Johns Hopkins University Bloomberg School of Public Health
Patricio V. Marquez is a former World Bank Group (WBG) Lead Public Health Specialist. He retired in August 2019 after 32 years of service working in over 80 countries across the world. In March 2020, he returned to WBG as a consultant to support the core team in the preparation and implementation of the US$26 billion COVID-19 Global Emergency Response Program and Additional Financing for Vaccines and Vaccination. He also co-authored the “Better Together: A Mental Health and Well-being Strategy for the World Bank Group”, which was launched on May 4th, 2022. He is currently contributing as part of the WBG Global Learning Program on Pharmacovigilance. He is a Senior Associate at the Johns Hopkins University Bloomberg School of Public Health, and serves as a Pledge Champion at the Tobacco Free Portfolios Foundation, Governing Member of the Charles Darwin Foundation for the Conservation of the Galapagos Islands, Ecuador, Member of the External Advisory Boards for the University of Washington Consortium for Global Mental Health and I-TECH, and member of the International Advisory Committee for the preparation of the World Non-Communicable Diseases (NCD) 2023 Conference.
