- Country Director (I-TECH Malawi)
- The Country Director will have primary responsibility to fulfill I-TECH’s work plan developed in collaboration with CDC/Malawi and the Ministry of Health. The overarching aim of the I-TECH Country Director is to lead the country office staff and programs, and to serve as the primary I-TECH representative for the country project. - Director of Pre-Service Programs - Tanzania
- The Director of Pre-Service Programs is a member of the International Training and Education Center for HIV (I-TECH) Tanzania senior management team. This position directly oversees the implementation of the Pre-service project(s) and the Human Resources for Health (HRH) scale up project and supervises the program managers of these programs. The pre-service project (PST) aims to increase the capacity of pre-service training institutions to prepare new graduates to provide effective, high-quality HIV and AIDS and TB/HIV care, treatment and support upon entering clinical practice. Activities include developing HIV related content, strengthening the capacity of tutors, and strengthening overall pre-service education programs through capacity building, training, material development, and monitoring and evaluation. The HRH project aims to support the Ministry of Health and Social Welfare (MOHSW) to increase the number of qualified healthcare workers to staff dispensaries, health centers and care and treatment clinics. It is a new project presently in the development phase. - Clinical Epidemiologist, Monitoring and Evaluation of Clinical Services - Malawi
- Seeking: A clinical epidemiologist or public health specialist with a proven record of developing and implementing monitoring and evaluation (M&E) tools and systems in a clinical setting. The Lighthouse—a Malawian Trust, working in partnership with the Ministry of Health (MoH) as a centre of excellence in HIV Treatment, Care and Support– provides a continuum of quality care to over 10,000 patients on anti-retroviral therapy (ART) in its two sites (http://www.mwlighthouse.org/). In concert with a dynamic 8-member M&E team, and in collaboration with the Lighthouse clinical advisor, unit coordinators and direct service providers, you will provide technical assistance to expand the technical capacity of the Lighthouse to build sustainable M&E systems for all Lighthouse services. Significant emphasis will be placed on the increasingly integrated HIV services in Malawi, such as HIV testing and Counselling, ART, Palliative Care, linkage of PMTCT and ART, and TB/HIV management services. - Strategic Information Lecturer, Namibia
- The Strategic Information (SI) Lecturer is located in Windhoek, Namibia. I-TECH Namibia has a multi-million dollar portfolio which supports the Ministry of Health and Social Services’ (MoHSS) response to HIV/AIDS. The primary role of the SI Lecturer is to collaborate with the University of Namibia administration and lecturers to strengthen University of Namibia’s Masters in Public Health degree program. The SI Lecturer will strengthen SI curriculum content within existing MPH program; revise the mode of delivery as necessary and building relationships with UNAM lecturers and administrators. The SI Lecturers will develop a long-term strategy to with UNAM lecturers to strengthen capacity of students to specialize in Strategic Information. The SI lecturer will be a University of Washington/I-TECH employee, and will be located at the I-TECH Namibia office in Windhoek. I-TECH Namibia has been recognized by the MoHSS as the capacity building/training partner for MoHSS in the area of HIV/AIDS health workforce development. I-TECH is also involved in many of the ministry’s efforts to understand and provide strategic information for program planning. I-TECH’s close collaborates with the MoHSS necessitates that a Senior Evaluation Advisor serves as the hands-on technical assistance and support for the design, implementation, data collection, and analysis of several evaluation projects. - Content Expert Consultancy
- Content Expert (CE) The CE will develop course syllabi for a project targeting mid-level practitioners (técnicos de medicina geral, TM), who provide the majority of primary care in rural Mozambique. I-TECH is tasked with revising the 30-month pre-service (undergraduate) curriculum for TM. Short-term project goals include revising all course syllabi and integrating HIV-related topics. Long-term goals include the development of detailed course content and learning materials, as well as faculty training, in order to improve the quality of pre-service education and, ultimately, patient outcomes.
