E. Michael Reyes, MD, MPH, is Co-Principal Investigator of I-TECH at the UW’s primary university partner, the University of California, San Francisco (UCSF). Dr. Reyes is a professor in the Department of Family and Community Medicine at UCSF. He leads the UCSF team of clinical and prevention experts and collaborates on the overall strategy and direction for I-TECH. Dr. Reyes also provides quality training and technical assistance on HIV care, treatment and prevention to physicians and health care workers in the Pacific region for the Pacific AIDS Education and Training Center at UCSF.
As a founding Principal Investigator (PI) of the Center of Excellence for Transgender Health (CoE), he provides leadership and supports capacity building and policy advocacy. Dr. Reyes also supports research development and resources designed to increase access to culturally competent health services for transgender people in collaboration with the Center for AIDS Prevention Studies. He serves as PI or Co-PI on a number of CoE grants.
