Training: Training of Trainers Worksheets
When training trainers to train others (TOT), it is useful to incorporate interactive activities into the training. This document was designed to be used in the classroom as an adult learning exercise. Three case studies are presented with questions for discussion. Each case study revolves around adjusting training methods to cater to adult learners and will help reinforce newly learned adult learning principles.
This worksheet asks participants to consider their strengths and weaknesses as teachers, as well as characteristics of strong teachers.
A simple worksheet that asks participants to list the characteristics of good trainers and then compare good trainers to good teachers.
In this worksheet participants work on their own to consider one positive and one challenging learning experience they have had, and the role their teachers played in that experience.
Five difficult participant scenarios are presented for participants to discuss.
This activity is designed to take two hours. Participants are asked to lead a warm-up exercise, a mini lecture, and an active learning exercise.
This activity is useful for helping participants internalize lectures on adult learning styles. Participants are asked to identify their own learning/teaching style, and then brainstorm ways to teach people from other learning styles.
Similar to the previous handout, this document provides more activities for the facilitator to lead in order to help participants discover their learning style. The same brainstorming activity as above is included on this activity guide.
