This section includes facilitator guides for the short videos on the DVD included in this Clinical Mentoring Toolkit packet. The videos offer short vignettes highlighting best practices for various clinical situations, including patient-centred care, counselling and patient confidentiality. The accompanying guides help facilitators maximize the impact of the videos.

The nursing demonstrations video includes three short video segments: Separating Clean and Dirty Items, A Quiz to Follow Separating Clean and Dirty Items, and Giving Injections Safely.  The facilitator's guide accompanies all three segments and provides step-by-step instructions for the person facilitating the training.

• Trigger Scenarios From the Caribbean

These three trigger scenarios were developed for use in the Caribbean, but may be used elsewhere.  The scenarios are Delivering Test Results to a Sero-Discordant Couple (One, Two, and Three), Assessing for ARV Readiness, and Three Scenes about Patient Confidentiality (One, Two, and Three).  These scenarios are accompanied by a facilitator's guide to assist the person facilitating the discussion. 

Sexually Transmitted Infection Care Trigger Scenarios

The Sexually Transmitted Infection videos include five scenarios for discussion: Provider-Centred Care: Woman with Vaginal Discharge, Patient-Centred Care: Woman with Vaginal Discharge, Sensitive Female Pelvic Exam, Risk Reduction Counselling: 35 Year-old Man with Genital Ulcer Disease, and HIV Post-test Counselling.  These scenarios are not accompanied by a facilitator's guide, but may be used as a discussion-trigger in any training of presentation.
