Welcome!

This toolkit is a collection of resources that are designed to support administrators and clinicians in planning and implementing a successful clinical mentoring program.

A foundation of the toolkit's approach is the US-based AIDS Education & Training Centers' (AETC) experience with HIV clinician capacity building. Funded by the Health Resources and Services Administration since 1987, the AETC program is based upon adult learning principles and emphasizes the link between expert HIV clinician mentoring and clinical consultation.

In this toolkit, I-TECH, as the international AETC, presents methods and best practices for clinical mentoring in a variety of settings, and offers documents to support a new or existing clinical mentoring program. The toolkit also offers resources for increasing clinical mentoring capacity through training of additional trainers (TOT).
